More people are now interested in learning culture and history of China. If you want to know more about China, Mandarin is the first thing to learn. Is it very hard to learn Chinese? The answer is Yes and No. Many people think that English is the easiest language to learn. However, ESL (English as Second Language) learns find English difficult to learn. As a native speaker in Chinese, I find Chinese neither too hard nor too easy to learn - not too hard because there are many people who are able to master the language; not so easy because there are also people who have learned the language for many years but still unable to reach their goals. So it depends.

For example, many people can say hello, thanks, what is your name, and where are you from in least two or three different languages.
