Kung Fu has a long history. Another name for Kung Fu is Martial Arts. It has thousands of years of history with its origin in ancient China. Nowadays, many people practice Kung Fu for health benefits, building confidence, strength, wellness and self-defense.

How Kung Fu Works for Kids, Youth and Adults
* Physical Strength
Kung Fu is one of  the best ways of improving our physical strength, such as flexibility, balance, and power. When you practice Kung Fu, you are not only building your big muscles, but also small muscles, since Kung Fu offers different dimensions of motion and movements for your body. For example, breathing with Kung Fu movements can practice the little muscles for our lungs. Most Kung Fu movements utilize both sides of our body, which is helpful for developing better physical balance.

* Building Confidence
Some children are reserved and shy before they practice Kung Fu. Practicing Kung Fu can help because through Kung Fu movements, children develop power, strength, and confidence. They will also develop better focus. They can also improve their physical coordination and ability to concentrate. Knowledge of Kung Fu can be helpful if your child participate in other kinds of sports.

*Self-Defense
The purpose of practicing Kung Fu is not for fighting, but for protecting and standing up for ourselves when we are in the danger or being threatened. In class, we emphasize on communication, respect towards peers, teamwork, and trust.

*Calming Down and Stress Relief
It is well known that exercise can relieve or reduce mental stress. Kung Fu practice actually has both internal and external aspects. For example, Tai Chi and Qi Gong are very helpful for stress relief and calming down of our minds.

*Self-Discipline and Positive Behavior Encouragement
By learning and following rules in a Kung Fu class, students will learn discipline, respect, persistence, courage, kindness, and sharing.

*Wellness and Health
Kung Fu, Tai Chi and Qi Gong have profound benefits for health. These involve exercise of both the body and mind; training of flexibility, balance, and strength. Kung Fu is also excellent for improving blood circulation and lowering blood pressure.
